With reference to paragraph 8 of my Despatch No. 183 of the 23rd. Kay and to your telegram of the 3rd. June, I have the honour to forward for the signature of His Majesty's
pleasure the enclosed Ordinance to give effect to the change in the name and style of the office heretofore know as that of Registrar- -General (No. 21 of 1913). The usual report by the Attorney-General is attached.

I take this opportunity of stating in reply to
para raph 2 of your Despatch No. 180 of the 25th. June that I pro-
-pose to designate the present Assistant Registrars-General Chief,
Second and Third Assistants to the Secretary for Chinese Affairs.
